With a good mixture of quirky and serious, The Post-Timey String Band produces an interesting blend of folk, ragtime, and blues with influences from the old and the new. Kelley Porterfield creates the picture with her vocals/kazoo/mouth trumpet and keeps everything in beat with her guitar, banjo, uke, etc., while Sean Thomson colors everything in with an assortment of stringed instruments.
Labeled Hindustani-American folk music, The Sound of Joy Band is a totally new exploration of world fusion music that is both danceable and cerebral, leaving your cranium a-goose-bumpin' while ya hands-a-clappin' and ya feets-a-cloggin! Featuring one-man-band Brother Jim Hadley and tabla player Ryan Shah.
