Laura Oldfield (mezzo-soprano) , Len Young (piano)
Laura Oldfield is a mezzo soprano who holds positions at Newcastle Cathedral as Alto Lay Clerk and Choral Director in the Newcastle Cathedral Schools Singing Programme. After graduating with her Master's in Music, Laura has worked across the North of England and Midlands as a professional soloist, small consort vocalist and choral singer, and has appeared as a soloist for a number of large choral societies as well as on the operatic stage. She manages the Newcastle-based septet Vox Populi and sings with Newcastle's award-winning chamber choir Voices of Hope.
Alongside her long-held and deep love for sacred choral music, Laura enjoys presenting a diverse range of solo repertoire, from the lilting songs of the medieval Troubadours and stately Baroque arias, to the most melancholic English songs and the exquisite word painting of French mélodies
