(Eng below) In dit publieke interview bespreken professor en journalist Jon Christensen en UGent postdoctoraal onderzoeker Shannon Lambert de manieren waarop verschillende praktijken van denken en doen doorheen de geschiedenis van de wetenschap de hedendaagse strategische benaderingen van milieucommunicatie beïnvloeden. Het interview strekt zich uit over de natuur-en menswetenschappen en wil onderzoeken hoe narrativiteit in het bijzonder een effectief middel is om wetenschappelijke informatie te kaderen en samen te vatten, om empathie en interesse op te wekken bij lezers en publiek en om verkeerde informatie tegen te gaan. 📖

(Eng) In this public interview, professor and journalist Jon Christensen and UGent postdoctoral researcher Shannon Lambert discuss the ways in which histories and practices of thinking and doing science influence strategic approaches to environmental communication in our present moment. Stretching across the sciences and the humanities, the interview aims to explore how narrative in particular is an effective tool in framing and synthesizing scientific information, in generating empathy and interest in public readers and audiences, and in countering misinformation. 📖
Following this discussion, the floor will be open to audience members for questions.
