Meet and chat with Priya Kambli, the artist behind Heirloom: Weaving Memory with the Now, at this in-person event at MOCA Jacksonville.
For Kambli, photography is a means to bridge the gap between two cultures, come to terms with the effects of displacement, and to illuminate connections between the past and the present. Kambli creates digital compositions that juxtapose older family pictures from India with artifacts she brought from home, along with her own recent photographs, using arrangements of multiple images to bring out visual and poetic correlations.
Join us for a group lunch at the museum followed by a creative conversation held virtually with Kambli and a staff-led tour through the galleries. This is an in-person event hosted at MOCA Jacksonville. Please share any dietary restrictions with us at registration checkout to ensure you have a positive lunch experience.
SPACE IS LIMITED. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
Heirloom: Weaving Memory with the Now is on view through August 1 in MOCA Jacksonville's UNF Gallery.
