Bring your lunch and join us for never before heard stories about State Farm history on Thursday, June 5, from 12:10 to 1:00 p.m. with State Farm Archivist Buck Farley.There is a treasure trove buried underneath State Farm’s corporate headquarters right here in Bloomington, and Buck Farley is in charge of preserving it all! During this program, Farley will share “stories from the vault” about State Farm’s rich history including G.J. Mecherle, Adlai Rust, The Milk Program, Roller Skates, and more! You don’t want to miss this glimpse into the history of our local giant of the insurance industry!
Buck Farley has been State Farm’s archivist since 2014. Born and raised in Knoxville, IL, he moved to Normal to attend Illinois State University in 1995. He has a B.S. in Anthropology and History. Before he began his career at State Farm in 2004, he worked for several cultural resource management firms as an archaeologist.
