Bring your lunch and join us Join us for an engaging talk on women who made McLean County history during our Lunch & Learn on Thursday, March 13, from 12:10 to 1:00 p.m. with Candace Summers, the Museum's Senior Director of Education.Making history has always come naturally to women, and the women of McLean County are no exception. However, throughout history, women have been marginalized and forced into a secondary social status, taking the backseat to men. It is vital that the stories of women are told so that they can take their rightful place in our history. Summers will share information about 10 McLean County women who shaped local history. From the first woman Illinois State Senator, Florence Fifer Bohrer; to the “Queen of the Flying Trapeze,” Antoinette Concello; and Civil Rights activist Sister Mary Antona Ebo, this illustrated program will explore their lives and recognize their lasting contributions to our community and our world.
The Museum's Lunch & Learn series is made possible with the support of our presenting sponsor, MCK CPAs & Advisors. This series provides unique learning opportunities every second Thursday of the month over the lunch hour (12:10-1:00 p.m.) in person and live via youtube.com/mchistorymuseum.
Save the dates in your calendars for the next Lunch & Learn on April 10.
