Located in Dayton, we are a leading provider of inpatient rehabilitation for stroke, brain injury, hip fracture and other complex neurological and orthopedic conditions.
We are a Joint Commission Stroke certified hospital and Jerry Shields COTA/L and Rehab Liaison will present over lunch the following topics: what a stroke is, risk factors, typical signs and symptoms, and what do to initially if you think someone is having a stroke. The class additionally covers typical medication side effects, the importance of controlling heart rate, blood pressure and blood sugars. The class discusses typical prognosis of stroke, what the purpose of rehabilitation is and strategies to increase movement and improve cognition after a stroke.
