About this Event
Get ready to celebrate the Lunar New Year with a special twist! Join us for the 2026 Lunar New Year Tết Festival as we welcome the Year of the Horse and introduce our exciting new Mardi Gras & Asian Cajun Village. This unique celebration honors the Vietnamese refugees who settled in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast, where they created a distinctive Asian-Cajun fusion culture. Enjoy delicious food from over 100 vendors serving Vietnamese cuisine and Asian-Cajun fusion dishes, a beer & wine garden, a groundbreaking parade fusing Lunar New Year traditions with Mardi Gras elements as we attempt to break the world record for the longest second line parade, exciting lion dancers, captivating live performances, and fun-filled bounce houses and activities for kids. Bring the whole family for a weekend of culture, community, and celebration!
This free community event is expected to welcome over 10,000 attendees for two days of festive fun. For more information and sponsorship opportunities, visit ElkGroveLunarNewYear.com.
This is a non-profit event hosted by volunteers of the Vietnamese community (cPALSs, VACOS, and NVCC).
