About this Event

Create your own beautiful paper lantern to shine a warm light during the winter.

Classes from beginner to advanced are taught by Orcas artists and welcome sign ups.

Beginners meet for 2 hr sessions. No fee to participate, families welcome.

Donations for materials welcome.

The Orcas community Winter Solstice Parade is Saturday, December 21st and November is a good time to get started on your lantern – or lanterns. Make your own, or form a contingent with a special theme.

A Big Thank You to the Orcas Island Community Foundation and Orcas Island Parks and Rec for collaborating on these workshops. Hosted by the Orcas chapter of the San Juan Islands Makers Guild with support from the Paul Allen Community Accelerator grant program.
