PROGRAM October is a month of bounty for wildlife as fruit and color wildflowers compete for the attention of birds, insects, and mammals. In preparation for the cold weather to come, squirrels and chipmunks gather to bury acorns. Migrating birds who feed on flying insects are heading south. Join us on this accessible walk as we look for these and other signs of the changing season on the Lumberton Campus.
PRESENTER
Led by Lumberton Campus resident Holly Hoffman, you will experience this special season as you find seeds, fruits, and nuts, as well as wildflowers — likely some early fall color and even some squirrels burying acorns for their winter sustenance.
