LUMA Creations brings you three talented and experienced creatives, to share their own inspirational story.
About this Event

2023 is a year full of possibilities in a landscape that is everchanging. LUMA Creations returns with an exciting new panel of amazingly talented and experienced creatives, to share their own inspirational story.

About this event

Chaired by LUMA Creations’ Creative Director & CEO, Francisco Carrasco, this special event aims to inspire and give food for thought as well as give you the chance to hear from three exceptional individuals about how they have tackled the many obstacles of working in the creative sector. An informal and lively panel discussion where you can join in, ask questions and meet other people starting or growing their own businesses. Including the importance of being able to do things differently and keeping up with the trends and the changes in the industry and the world in these extraordinary times.

Faith Bebbington

For over 25 years, Faith Bebbington has been building an impressive career as a professional sculptor. Working with clients such as ITV, Veolia, the FA (Football Association) for Wembley Stadium and Westminster City Council, her large-scale sculptures made from recycled materials have been exhibited in a myriad of locations across the UK.

Faith’s artistic practice initially stemmed from having cerebral palsy, a disability that made her curious about how people and animals move. Faith explores this through figurative sculptures playing with balance, the process of falling, and capturing sequences of movement whether human or animal.

In 2014 her artistic perspective shifted radically after surviving ‘terminal’ cancer! Faith stopped working with fibreglass resin as her main medium and focused on more sustainable, environmentally friendly ways of working, particularly re-using plastics by breaking the component parts down to then reconstruct them.

Curtis Watt

Curtis is a performance poet, rapper, music producer, actor, presenter, musician, workshop leader and author of Children’s History of Liverpool. He has worked for over 3 decades internationally on both stage and screen, and is recognised as one of Liverpool’s most versatile artists.

Curtis has worked with many organisations in the region as well as nationally and internationally as a director, performer, facilitator and project manager. He has performed on stage, film and TV, in Festivals and across a wide range of genres.

Aimée Maria Harris

Aimée is a Soprano, Musician and Musical Director who trained at the University of Liverpool and The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Aimee has compose for, been co-musical director, and performed in a number of theatre shows with Imaginarium Theatre including Strange Tale, Romeo and Juliet, Treasure Island and As You Like it.

Aimee is also a Lyric-Coloratura Soprano specialising in early music and regularly performs in concerts, oratorios and shows around the UK alongside having a thriving vocal coaching business, teaching intermediate or advanced level singing from teenagers through to adults, across a number of genres including classical/musical theatre/contemporary from home, in secondary schools and a studio in the city centre.

This event is part of a series of sessions starting on Tuesday 28th January for creatives focusing on:

- Accessing Arts Funding (Focusing on Arts Council Project Funding)

- Being Prepared: Promoting yourself and your work in the market place.

- Networking and Signposting: what is available?
