LUMA Creations brings you three talented and experienced creatives, to share their own inspirational story.
About this Event

Chaired by LUMA Creations’ Director & CEO, Francisco Carrasco this special event aims to inspire and give food for thought as well as give you the chance to hear from three exceptional individuals about how they have tackled the many obstacles of working in the creative sector. An informal and lively panel discussion where you can join in, ask questions and meet other people starting or growing their own businesses. Including the importance of being able to do things differently and keeping up with the trends and the changes in the industry and the world in these extraordinary times.

Nikki Blaze

Nikki has built a small wig company called Epiphany Bliss from scratch and is also a Co-founder at Liverpool Hip Hop Festival working with many young people and their communities through music. She is a well-known and highly respected freelance artist and facilitator. At present Nikki is working on an amazing NFT project with Smithdown Social Art Gallery as well as working with The Royal Court, Luma Creations and the North Shakespeare Play House.

Nikki Blaze was born 1981. Based in Liverpool UK and New York City, her work is a reflection of her imagination and the environment around her. Raised in Toxteth by her mother and father in the 80s and 90s Nikki grew up in the middle of an artistic scene that had grown from political events such as the 1981 Riots and other movements of the working class hip hop culture.

Juliana Pinheiro Landim

Juliana is the co-Founder and Creative Director of the award winning Katumba Drumming & Movement who are considered one of the best Drum Ensembles in the UK and have performed throughout the UK and internationally for many prestigious events.

A native Brazilian from Recife, she has been working in the community since the age of 13. First volunteering with her mum feeding the needy in the favelas of Pernambuco, and later as she studied Music at University, teaching free music lessons in those communities. In Liverpool she continues to create projects with community engagement and has created an exciting and highly sought after project including the highly rated Katumba Halloween Parade.

Attila Olah

Attila is an ice sculptor turned ceramicist with 10 years’ experience working within the creative sector. He is the founder and director of Altar Pottery; a community-orientated shared studio which provides workshops for the wider public and is also a platform for a small number of early and mid-career ceramicists.

Attila explains about his craft, “In my bravest moments I imagine creating artefacts which have gravity and presence to them. When these forms ring out true their geometry become analogous with the feeling of harmony”.
