Singer-Songwriter – Choir Facilitator – Environmental Activist

Luke Wallace is an accomplished Canadian folk musician and speaker living in Vancouver, Canada.

Luke’s touring career includes close to one thousand concerts as a touring artist, performing internationally as a soloist in The United States, France, Costa Rica and much of Western Europe. He has performed at the biggest folk music festivals in Canada including the Vancouver Folk Festival, Salmon Arm Roots and Blues, Vancouver Island Music Festival and has upcoming performances at the renowned Stan Rogers Folk Festival in Nova Scotia and Kingsville Folk Festival in Ontario, Canada. Luke has opened for and supported Canadian folk heroes like Valdy, Irish Mythen and global roots touring band Rising Appalachia.A highlight so far for Luke was being invited to perform at the United Nations Headquarters in New York city as a guest speaker at the first UN Water Conference. Luke spoke and played two songs to an impassioned delegate of ministers from over fifty nations who were all gathered to discuss global water challenges and solutions.

Luke’s music has consistently been aired nationally in Canada by CBC radio where he has gained recognition as a key figure in the next wave of great folk singers of Canada. Luke’s song ‘Turning The Tide’ was one of fifteen songs selected by CBC music to be distributed to schools all over Canada who returned their own versions to the CBC for prizes and adjudication. ‘Turning The Tide’ was the most selected song by both the school and the judges, collecting two of six possible winning categories. This competition shot Luke into the limelight with school choirs and he has since provided in person and zoom performances to thousands of students from all over Canada.

In 2021 Luke co-launched the annual Youth Climate Activism Award, an initiative that recognizes the inspiring work of young climate leaders all over Canada. Since its’ inception, Luke has been the spokesperson for the award and has helped grow it to the nationally celebrated program that it is today.

In October of 2023, Luke was selected for an official showcase at Folk Music Ontario, Canada’s leading folk music showcase conference. Luke showcased his music to dozens of agents, festival bookers and managers and immediately garnered the attention of festivals in Ontario, confirming bookings on the spot for the following year.During Luke’s second tour through the US in 2023, Luke was commissioned to compose a song for the Grammy award-winning choir Tonality. Luke’s song, ‘Sons and Daughters’, was co-arranged by accomplished choral writer Shawn Kirchner and was premiered by Tonality at The Ebell Center in Los Angeles, CA. This song caught the wind of choirs all over North America including in Chicago where it was taken up by the Ecovoice Choir and used in many different performances. Luke’s music is currently sung by 85 choirs across the world.

Luke has also partnered with high calibre companies and music collectives in the US, including organizing and performing at a fundraiser for global music collective Playing For Change in Venice Beach, California.

Luke Wallace’s song ‘Comeback’, was released in 2022 and has been streamed 100,000 streams on Spotify.
