About this Event

Luke Schneider is a Nashville-based ambient pedal steel artist whose meditative, drone-based compositions transform the instrument’s traditional country role into immersive soundscapes. His releases on Third Man Records, Leaving Records, and Northern Spy position him at the forefront of modern experimental pedal steel.

Mike Baggetta is a Gainesville based guitarist, songwriter, and improviser. He founded the ensemble mssv with Mike Watt and Stephen Hodges that creates music that is a heretofore unimagined hybrid of a punk power-trio, noir-tinged adventure music and a dreamy experimental rock band, though they prefer the term “post-genre.”

Aside from mssv, Baggetta has had the pleasure to work all over the world with a wide range of visionary musicians across many generations including David Torn, Jim Keltner, Mike Watt, Nels Cline, Psychic Temple, Jeff Coffin, Henry Kaiser, Petra Haden, Steve Gigante, Rev. Fred Lane, Donny McCaslin, Darcy James Argue’s Secret Society, Joseph C. Philips’ Numinous, Imani Uzuri, Viktor Krauss, David Wax Museum, Julian Lage, Jon Irabagon, Jerome Harris, Tom Harrell, Eivind Opsvik, Jeremy Udden, and Ruth Brown among many others
“…a kind of post-Frisellian sonic explorer … with his wild whammy-bar articulations, ambient looping and rippling arpeggios … full of subversive surprises”-Slate Magazine

J.Eel is the improvised guitar and electronics duo of Jack Edmondson and Eric Lanham. The pair employ live looping, textural samples, and hypnotic rhythms that walks a tightrope be funk and introspection.
