About this Event
Lucy May Walker's monthly Writer's Round is an afternoon of original music in the style of a Nashville writers round where 3 featured artists sit on the stage at the same time and take turns in playing their songs & telling the stories behind them. Discover your new favourite artist in an intimate, cosy setting by the seaside.
November Artists:
Folkestone based Singer/Songwriter Lucy May began her music career by busking on the streets and train stations of London. She was discovered there by BBC Radio 2's Jeremy Vine who helped catapult her career by inviting Lucy to perform live on both his Radio and TV show. Lucy May has supported the likes of Lucy Spraggan, Tony Hadley & Texas as well as selling out numerous UK tours of her own.
Described by BBC’s Abbie McCarthy as “like a warm hug”, Lorel released their debut album, Idle, late in 2024 and were quickly featured on Introducing Kent – with the album chosen by Abbie as one of her favourites of the year. They play intimate, stripped-back songs drawing from folk tradition but firmly rooted in today – perfect for fans of Laura Marling, This Is the Kit, Gregory Alan Isakov, and Nick Drake.
Daniel McGuinness is a singer-songwriter from London, now based in Kent. Drawing influence from folk, pop and rock, Daniel has been consistently releasing music since 2022 and honing his sound, garnering a reputation along the way for his strong melodies, smooth vocals and thought-provoking lyrics. A four-time finalist in the UK Songwriting Contest, he has featured regularly on BBC Introducing in Kent thanks to support from DJ Abbie McCarthy. Coffee enthusiasts may also be familiar with his music – Daniel’s catalogue is a regular feature on Caffè Nero’s in-store playlist, on rotation within its 600+ stores across the UK. He has also performed live at some of London’s legendary venues including The Green Note, The Troubadour and Pizza Express Live.
