Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys est un groupe d’art-pop et de tender-noise, caractérisé par une ouverture constante à la transformation sonore. Fondé en 2015 par sa frontwoman d’origine sud-africaine, le projet prend sa forme résolument éphémère après son installation à Berlin en 2018.
La voix de Kruger escalade des murs de bruit ambient, tissant avec finesse murmures et invocations gutturales au cœur d’un paysage post-punk hanté.
Les performances immersives du groupe, passant sans effort de l’intimité au lâcher-prise, sont saluées pour leur précision émotionnelle et leur puissance, et suscitent des comparaisons avec Sonic Youth, PJ Harvey ou encore Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds.
À la trilogie Tapes (2019–2022), largement acclamée, succède Heaving (2023), où la voix et le son s’approchent d’une intensité presque primale, avant d’être tempérés par A Human Home (2024) et son exploration lo-fi des notions de lien et d’appartenance.
La voix de Kruger figure également sur le dernier album de The Underground Youth, ainsi que sur les deux derniers disques de Swans.
En 2026, le groupe sortira et défendra sur scène son septième album studio, Pale Bloom — une émulsion sonore scintillante qui s’anime dans le corps de l’auditeur, tel un désir éveillé s’étirant pour prendre forme.

Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys is an art-pop tender-noise band defined by their openness to sonic transformation. Formed in 2015 by the South African-born frontwoman, the project took on its distinctively ephemeral shape after relocating to Berlin in 2018.
Kruger’s voice scales its walls of ambient noise, deftly weaving whispers and guttural invocations alike through its haunted, post-punk terrain.
The band’s immersive performances, shifting effortlessly between intimacy and abandon, are celebrated for their emotional precision and force, drawing comparisons to Sonic Youth, PJ Harvey, and Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds.
Their acclaimed Tapes Trilogy (2019–2022) is followed by Heaving (2023), where both voice and sound edged toward something near-primal, to be then tempered by A Human Home (2024) and its lo-fi exploration of connection and belonging.
Kruger’s voice also appears on the most recent album by The Underground Youth and the last two records by Swans.
In 2026, the band will release and tour their seventh studio album, Pale Bloom – a glistening sonic emulsion that animates itself in the body of the listener, like an awakened desire stretching itself into being.
