After an intense 2023 with indie supergroup boygenius, Lucy Dacus is ready to hit her stride again solo. With a fourth full-length released on 28 March, and with a third single ‘Best Guess’, which suggests the best for what is to come. But today, above all, she also unveils the dates of her much-anticipated European tour, with which she will welcome Belgians to visit our country. Lucy Dacus will bring her velvety voice and catchy songs to the stage of Ancienne Belgique on 24 June.
It was with single ‘I Don't Wanna Be Funny Anymore’ from on debut album ‘No Burden’ released in 2016 that Lucy Dacus made herself heard. The Richmond, Virginia-based singer impressed with her disarmingly sincere playful songwriting. In 2018, her second album ‘Historian’ took a more dramatic turn and was also liked by critics. That same year, she formed the trio boygenius, with Julien Baker and Phoebe Bridgers. Lucy Dacus' third solo album, “Home Video”, was released in 2021 and is more tender and autobiographical. With the release of their first album in 2023, boygenius enjoyed staggering success. They reached fourth place on the Billboard 200, won three Grammy Awards and played to sold-out venues such as Madison Square Garden. Far from resting on her laurels, Lucy Dacus is releasing a new solo album this year. The first singles, ‘Best Guess’, ‘Limerence’ and ‘Ankles’, are already tasted previews and hint at the best.
