About this Event
Join a guided walk looking at the history and built heritage of this award-winning city park. Cannon Hill Park was gifted to the city over 150 years ago by Louisa Anne Ryland. She was a major local philanthropist who used her prosperity to establish and support important institutions in Birmingham and she also gifted the land for Cannon Hill Park, as green space for citizens to enjoy.
Join this relaxed walk to hear more about Louisa Anne Ryland and the original 1873 layout of the park, much of which is still in evidence, as well as features that have disappeared and more recent additions.
Meet in the courtyard of the Midland Art Centre. Comfortable shoes advised and dress for the weather. No stairs but some uneven paths likely. The walk is wheelchair accessible. The walk will last around an hour to an hour and a quarter.
Parking is available at Cannon Hill Park at the entrance to the Midlands Art Centre (mac) https://macbirmingham.co.uk/visit/getting-here
Unfortunately, our furry friends won’t be allowed inside the premises.
