We are so excited to host our 1st Annual White Cane Safety Day at LSU. We have partnered with LSU Disability Services and Delta Gamma for an amazing day! We want to raise awareness across campus about the independence, mobility and safety rights of blind, low vision and deafblind individuals, using a white cane as a symbol of empowerment as well as promoting safe pedestrian practices and partnering with LSU Police and other agencies to educate students about Louisiana's White Cane Law and importance of pedestrian safety for all.
The day will include blindfolded obstacle course with LSU Student Recreation Center, Crosswalk Challenge with LSU police, Tactile Art with AC, Photo booth with Delta Gamma and Orientation and Mobility/Cane Walk.
