Overview:
Many organizations fail in their applications due to a lack of preparation, project clarity, sustainable outcomes and partners? Most funders have different requirements and application processes. This workshop will help to set up a framework that can assist participants for readiness to apply for grants efficiently and effectively. This workshop will provide the essentials for grant writing. Participants will be given a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) for a recent programmatic grant opportunity. This FOA will be reviewed in detail in the workshop and participants will be actively engaged in how to write and what to include in the various sections of grant writing. Participants will work together on what to include in each section including how to write goals and objectives.
Target Audience:
Registered nurses and those interested in grant writing.
Objectives:
Upon completion of the educational activity, the participant shall be able to:
- Understand how to strategically and effectively approach grant writing.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to write narrative sections common in programmatic grants.
- Discuss the importance of adhering to the eligibility requirements for funding noted in the Funding Opportunity Announcement.
Participants will earn up to 6.25 contact hours of nursing continuing professional development credit based on attendance.

Cancellation and Refund Policy:
A full refund, less a $25 processing fee and Eventbrite service fees, will be issued for all cancellations received at least one week prior to the date of the workshop. No refunds are issued thereafter. Cancellations received the day of the workshop are not eligible for a refund. LSUHNO School of Nursing, Nursing Continuing Professional Development & Entrepreneurial Enterprise reserves the right to cancel a course when circumstances are warranted. In such a case, a full refund will be issued.
