Ticket types:

You can select a DAY only ticket or a DAY and EVENING symposium ticket. Refreshments and lunch are included in the DAY ticket, refreshments, lunch and evening dinner are included in the DAY and EVENING ticket.

There are some bursaries available for those who may struggle to meet the costs of attending. Please contact the conference organiser. These cover ticket costs only, not travel or accommodation.

About the day:

* Arrivals are from 9.15am on Saturday 22 April

* Conference commences 10.00am with keynotes 1 and 2

* 5-10 minute slots and 30 minute parallel sessions run throughout the day led by educators and researchers. Participants can select a number to attend. You will also hear from research groups and networks. There will be access to an online gallery of submissions.

* Refreshments and lunch included.

* Keynotes 3 and 4 round the day off at 4.30-5.30pm

* Day conference ends 5.30pm

* For those booking the relevant ticket type, Evening symposium with dinner from 7.00pm

We are coming together around the overarching theme of the uses of research in further education in its broadest sense and how this develops our practices as teachers and educators.

The full programme with speaker and session leader information will be circulated once all submissions have been reviewed. Keynote speakers include Dr Rebecca Clare, Senior HMI Curriculum OFSTED and Emma Fielding, Principal of Richard Huish College.

Session leaders include Dr Kevin Orr, Professor of Work and Learning at the University of Huddersfield as well as an array of practitioners from across further, higher and adult community education. You will also meet and hear from representatives of organisations, networks and communities including BERA special interest groups (British Educational Research Association SIGs), FE Constellations and RCG (Research College Group).

We are now open for submissions of proposals or abstracts from people wishing to present. DEADLINE 1st March. Please submit via this google form:

This will take you away from eventbrite so remember to book your ticket to attend the conference. You can submit a proposal or abstract for a workshop, seminar or innovator session; a wild card session; the digital gallery; mini slots; or the evening symposium. Venue:

The conference venue is at Aston University Birmingham - Conference Aston. The nearest train station is Birmingham New Street. We will have use of a conference space and breakout rooms, the dining area and private dining in the evening.

Accommodation

A limited amount of overnight accommodation is available at the conference venue for both participants and presenters on the Saturday night with some room availability on the Friday as well. Please ensure you have booked a conference ticket first, before booking overnight accommodation.

Therefore, this event is in person only, adding to the variety that LSRN offers. However, if filming of any part of the day becomes possible, we will share this after the event.
