LSA is so excited to (officially) announce our biggest event of the year…Golden Blessings: A Celebration of Prosperity & Fortune! For this year’s Lao new year theme, our theme of gold is inspired by the concept of sok dee (ໂຊກດີ), meaning good luck. Rooted in the deep-seated belief that fortune and harmony stem from a positive attitude, spiritual energy, and blessings from spirits and Buddha, sok dee encourages others to perform good deeds as a gateway to happiness. Beyond symbolizing luck, it also fosters interpersonal connections and reflects the warm, generous spirit of Lao people.
We invite you all to come celebrate the New Year with us alongside amazing performances, guest speakers, and of course, enjoy delicious Lao foods! LSA is looking forward to seeing you on April 20th, from 5-9pm at the Great Hall in Coffman Memorial Union!
