LP Quartet

The LP Quartet is a London-based jazz ensemble who find their inspiration in the interplay between four musical personalities and the ability to create together simultaneously.

From a love of Jazz and the popular music of their youth, the LP Quartet combines heavy grooves and contemporary chord progressions with swing feel and more traditional ideas from the Jazz idiom.

In his hometown of Brighton, Luke recorded his debut EP ‘First Conversations' with the LP Quartet as a sax/guitar quartet, with local musicians he met on the local jam scene. He is currently working with a new and exciting lineup of musicians he's met during his studies in London at Trinity Laban, with a completely new sound.

On their 2022 performance at the New Generation Jazz Festival in Brighton, the group was described as “extremely deft in this early stage of evolution as they find their own voice… ones to watch.

”Luke has played with all of these musicians in many different settings. In a trio, he played in an abstract trio context with Sam and Sacha, improvising live on stage to accompany live circus. Recently he has been playing with Cameron in his recent project Morse Contact, exploring jazz in a bassless trio context and taking inspiration from the Paul Motian trio. As a quartet, their unique characters come together through their compositions and improvisations.
