
About this Event
This face to face CPD training day will provide an overview of the use of compression garments and Adjustable Velcro compression wraps in oedema management including practical tips for measuring ordering and fitting of garments
Objectives:
- Increase awareness of why compression garments are prescribed
- Consider how the drainage pathways and distribution of oedema influence our compression selection.
- Increase awareness of indications & contra-indications for using compression garments.
- Explain the rationale for the choice of fabric and compression in garment selection.
- Demonstrate the correct measuring for made to order and custom made garments
- Demonstrate ability to apply measuring guidelines to practice and to order the correct garment(s)
- Discuss adaptations for more complex patients
- Promote safe practice in the use of compression therapy.
Aimed at Lymphoedema/ TVN’s , AHP. GP’s trainees and new clinicians with an interest managing chronic oedema / lymphoedema.

Cambridge Rail Station is approximately three miles from the Hospice and taxis operate from outside the station. There is a bus service to the Babraham Road Park and Ride from the city centre, Cambridge Rail Station, and CUH Addenbrookes Hospital. When you arrive at the Park and Ride walk towards the vehicular entrance and take the pedestrian footpath to the Hospice (approx. 5-10 mins walk).

There are secure covered bicycle racks at the front of the Hospice building for cycles.

Car Parking
Visitors are requested to park at the Babraham Road Park and Ride located next to Arthur Rank Hospice. The car parking is free for up to 18 hours. If you are using Sat Nav use the P&R postcode CB22 3AB. There is a height restriction (2.1m) and is therefore not suitable for large commercial vehicles. Car parking at the Hospice is limited and is reserved for patients, families, and Blue Badge holders
