About this Event
Join us on March 27th at the UMass Lowell Innovation Hub (110 Canal Street, 3rd Fl., Lowell, MA) from 5pm - 7:30pm for an inspiring night!
During Women's History month (March), the UMass Lowell Innovation Hub and the Lowell Women's Week committee collected responses to the prompt,“What will my community look like when violence against women and girls no longer exists?"
On March 27th, at our showcase event, we will be sharing responses (past and present), resources, and refreshments!
This prompt yielded many insightful and thought provoking responses in 2003. We have collected modern day responses to create awareness about the changes and similarities over the years on people's viewpoints surrounding this question.
Have we come as far as you think? Have the issues changed over time? What still needs to be done?
Network with community members, be apart in the fight for awareness, and let’s see how far we’ve come!
Want to submit a response? If you or a loved one have experienced gender based violence, we want to hear from you! Gender-based violence (GBV) is violence targeted against someone due to their real or perceived gender and/or their relation to gender. GBV disproportionately affects women, girls, nonbinary, and gender non-conforming folks.
