Join us at our monthly meeting! Connect with like minded locals, support your local club and enjoy our monthly programming! Visitors & Guests are welcome to join! LGMS meetings are a fantastic place to connect with others who share an interest in rockhounding, fossils, lapidary arts, metalsmithing and geology.
Come mingle with other club members starting at 6:30 pm. At 7 pm we begin with a short business meeting. The monthly program follows the business meeting. Examples of programs include live demonstrations, Q&A sessions, videos and more! If you are interested in organizing a monthly program we would love to hear from you!
The Lowcountry Gem and Mineral Society (LGMS) of Charleston, South Carolina is a non-profit organization. The society was chartered on April 18, 1969 by Skiles F. Montague. Our purpose is "to foster the interest in and to facilitate the study of gems, minerals, fossils, and other related fields of geology and earth sciences" throughout the Lowcountry.
