9.5 miles - booking essential, T&Cs applyExplore part of the Limestone Way with views across the White Peak plateau before descending into Lathkill Dale National Nature Reserve. Here in the depths of one of the most beautiful Derbyshire Dales, nature has shrouded the mills, mines and quarries of an industrial past leaving a home for wildlife like Dippers and Grey Wagtails. We will be looking at the wildlife in the area including identifying wild flowers and birds.
Event Terrain: Mostly on good paths with some muddy sections in places. There is one steep 90m ascent up a flight of limestone steps and there is also a 1km level stretch through Lathkill Dale where the terrain is rocky and could possibly be slippy in wet conditions.
Event Grade: Hard - longer more challenging walks usually with ascents and descents and rough terrain.
Extra Items: Bring packed Lunch, drink, waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear
Meeting point: Small car park on Chapel Street, Monyash Village Centre. There is more on-street car parking available if the car park is full. Car park has an honesty box.
