Worship Everywhere invites you to a Lovefeast in Prayerful Unity for the American Election!
While our nation may be divided, Moravians stand as an example of people united by our unique diversity. We know of no better way to demonstrate this commitment to our shared identity as Christians than to join together in a simple meal, prayerful supplication and genuine loving unity the weekend before the American Election.
A brass band prelude will begin at 3:30 pm. The service begins at 4:00 pm and will be held in Salem Square. Plan to bring a chair and a friend! Opportunities for individual and corporate prayer will be included in the service as well as a message of inspiration from Rev. Kenneth Pettigrew. Gluten free and kid-friendly options for Lovefeast refreshments will be available as well.
There will be activities for children including Storytime during the service, a coloring station and more! Non-partisan voters and registration information will be available. A love offering will be received to be equally divided between the ministries of the Unity Women's Desk and Estamos Unidos.
As the bishops of the N. and S. American Provinces remind us, "we come together in love and mutual respect for one another because we find common ground in our commitment to Jesus Christ and our love and commitment to the Moravian Church." As they "challenge the Moravian Church to model a way of being together that does not yield to the pressures of polarization and fragmentation so evident in our society," we rise to the challenge with a response that unites us as members of the body of Christ, even in our disagreements and divisions.
