Learn to love your voice in this connective workshop aimed at building comfort, confidence and ease with one's own unique sound. Actors, Comedians, songwriters and performers of all kinds are invited to tune into their vocal instrument in this small, supportive environment. Beginners are especially welcome. The voice is a vulnerable, powerful instrument; let’s embrace it together!Class size is limited to 12 students.

Instructor Bio:
Estar Cohen is an award-winning musician, composer, improviser and comedian. She was born in Toledo, Ohio, made roots in southeast Michigan, and is presently based in Brooklyn, NY where she is a part of the first conservatory cohort at the newly established Second City New York.
As a bandleader and vocalist, Cohen has toured the United States leading to such prestigious performances as the Newport Jazz Festival and Detroit Jazz Festival, and gaining recognition for her work by organizations including the ASCAP Foundation, the International Society of Jazz Composers and Arrangers, and the Next Jazz Legacy program (Berklee Jazz & Gender Justice Institute, New Music USA, Mellon Foundation).
Cohen is a dedicated, passionate, and compassionate teacher. Her work over the last decade has spanned across her private teaching studio and organizations including Youth Arts Alliance, Earthwork Music, the University of Michigan Residential College, Young Artists at Work, the Faber Institute, ChiArts, and more.
