Love Your Scar - Understand, Care For and Transform Abdominal Scar Tissue

This online workshop is design specifically for anyone who has had Abdominal surgery and feels like their posture and movement has changed since the surgery.
Did you know that scar tissue can greatly change the way you move? Particularly if the scar is on the abdomen. Open heart surgery, key whole surgery disturbs the chest and pericardium tissue and can result in a feeling of tightness in the chest skin, a change in the posture with the shoulder curling forward, difficulty breathing and lower back pain.
If you have been experiencing any of the changers, or have any other noticeable changes to your movement since your surgery then this workshop will be of benefit to you.
Throughout the session we will:
* discuss the nature of scar tissue and how it effects the nervous system and movement.
* learn self assessment techniques for the scar, diaphragm and intrinsic core muscles
* learn gentle releasing techniques to soften scar tissue and improve breathing and core activation.
* learn breathing techniques to improve the quality of the breath, core function and abdominal stability and strength.
* gentle yoga stretch and movements to release shoulder tension and reduce back pain.

We will conclude with a guided meditation to help love and assimilate the scar tissue so we can be more connected and accepting of our scar and love it as part of our bodies history.

Where: Online at a place of your choosing
When: Tuesday 23rd August 2022
