As a part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Safe Embrace is partnering with local restaurants, businesses and establishments to bring attention to domestic violence by offering purple-themed items on their menus or in their inventory, symbolizing the recognized color of domestic violence awareness. The campaign will begin with a kick-off cocktail hour at Reno Public Market (RPM) on Tuesday, October 1, wherein the general public is invited to learn more about how they can play a pivotal role in reducing the rate of domestic violence.
Prior to the October 1 kick-off party at RPM starting at 5:30 p.m., Safe Embrace is inviting smaller businesses to participate in training sessions focused on how to identify signs of domestic violence and trafficking.
The sessions will feature information from Safe Embrace’s 86 Project presentation, which is delivered often to hospitality, restaurant and nightlife entities. The first session will be conducted in English at 1 p.m. and the second will be conducted in Spanish and take place at 3 p.m. Participants can register for free here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/love-should-be-sweet-86-project-presentation-tickets-1027028589157
