About Literacy Services of IRC:
Literacy Services of Indian River County (LSIRC) has provided free, confidential adult literacy tutoring to residents of Indian River County for over 50 years. We offer adult basic education (ABE), English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), preparation for high school diplomas and GED Exams, preparation for the United States Citizenship Exam, online learning software via phone or computer, and study assistance for career certification exams. We do this through free, confidential, one-to-one and small group literacy and language tutoring.
A United Way supported agency, Literacy Services of IRC relies on over 150 volunteer tutors who dedicated over 9,580 hours of literacy tutoring to over 280 Indian River County adults, aged 16 and older. Our mission is to deliver comprehensive and innovative learning opportunities to local adults seeking English language and literacy skills to achieve their goals. Our vision is for all adults to be empowered with the literacy skills they need to thrive in our community.
