Meet the more than 60 organizations funded through the City’s Community Grants program, explore exhibits and volunteer opportunities, and take part in fun interactive activities—including a scavenger hunt. Then head up to the Anvil Theatre for a community panel and a keynote speaker highlighting the vital role non-profits play in shaping life in New Westminster.
This is a FREE EVENT, suitable for all ages, and open to all residents.

Explore the contributions of more than 60 non-profits receiving 2025 Community Grants. Learn how your tax dollars support local initiatives across arts, culture, social services, sports, the environment, and more.

Anvil Theatre – Stories and Speaker Series
Head to the third floor of Anvil Theatre for presentations and conversations with the people leading New Westminster’s non-profits. Engage in deeper learning and inspiration.

Community Partner Panel
Hear directly from local organizations about their programs, challenges and successes. A guest moderator will keep the dialogue lively, informative, and engaging while fielding your questions for the panelists.
1:00 pm – 1:45 pm
Keynote Address
A thought-provoking speaker will explore a topic deeply relevant to the lives of New Westminster residents.
Join us for a keynote address by Zahra Esmali as she explores how the non-profit sector is essential to building strong, connected, and resilient communities across New Westminster.
About Zahra
Zahra joined the Vantage Point team as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in December 2021. Zahra has worked in the non-profit sector for over 15 years with experience in international development, housing and homelessness, community development, microfinance, governance, fundraising, and leadership.
Zahra is an active volunteer in the community. She is Co-Chair of the Fresh Roots Urban Farm Society Board of Directors and is Chair of the Board Governance Committee of Cuso International. Zahra is also Chair of BC’s Poverty Reduction Advisory Committee, an independent committee that advises government on policy developments related to poverty reduction and prevention. She was appointed to the BCIT Board of Governors in July 2025.
