ABOUT LOVE MUSIC HATE RACISM
https://www.lovemusichateracism.com/home
Love Music Hate Racism (LMHR) uses the energy and vibrancy of the music scene to promote unity and celebrate diversity through education and events. Our message is simple, there is more that unites us than divides us; and nothing demonstrates this more than music.
Whatever the genre, music is living testimony to the fact that cultures can and do mix. Music has the power to unite, to give strength and to effect positive social change.
Racism, on the other hand, weakens us; it creates barriers and turns friends and neighbours against one another.
Sadly, racism is on the rise in the UK and internationally. We believe that if we work together we can harness the power of music to stop this destructive force in its tracks.
Our aim is to use the power of music to bring together individuals and communities in a beautiful resistance against bigotry and hatred. Join the movement. Get involved. Subscribe to our mailing list. Follow us on social media.

ARTIST INFO
Pat Fulgoni Blues Experience
The debut 2024 Pat Fulgoni Blues Experience album has received considerable acclaim, a no 3 in the UK blues airplay charts and a nomination in the UK Blues Awards. Already with European dates under their belts “Blues in Britain” writes ‘its a blues set to cherish… Pat and co just do them so well” Reviewing 2024’s Tenby Blues Festival, Blues Matters Mag said: “There then followed an entirely different style and set of full throttle funky electric blues led by Pat Fulgoni and his Blues Experience. With a full on five piece band Fulgoni’s powerful vocal delivery worked wonders as he pushed the boat out with a confidence that highlighted this band’s importance in the growing blues world in the UK.”
In his time Pat has sung across many genres and worked with festival headlining producers from Zion Train to Camo & Krooked, London Electricity to Murdock to Coldcut and a range of weird and wonderful sounds including with Jeff Buckley / Capt Beefheart guitarist Gary Lucas (NYC) as well as touring the world as a live artist and as part of Huddersfield band Kava Kava. But it’s truly magical when he sings the blues especially when backed by the stunning musicianship of this band featuring talented musicians including Jacob Beckwith on guitar, Jaden Hart on bass, Sam Bolt on keys and Zebedee Sylvester on drums. Billboard Magazine USA wrote “Fulgoni could sing a pearl from its oyster”. They ain’t wrong and Blues Matters adds “completely blown away because he can sing, I mean really sing, ridiculously well”
Lightning Threads
Fusing vintage blues-rock with soulful swagger. Forged in Sheffield, Lightning Threads carve a path of their own into groove-ridden territories. Renowned for their electrifying performances and gritty sound, the band deliver raw, powerful riffs with searing solos echoing the spirit of classic rock legends of another time. With a reputation for turning every venue into a happening, Lightning Threads bring an infectious energy that captivates audiences from the first note to the last. Their sound is immersed with emotion, intensity, and rock ‘n’ roll attitude, making them one of the most exciting acts on the UK’s independent music scene.
Established in 2019, Lightning Threads are: Tom Jane, roaring and tearing the house of blues guitar; Sam Burgum, walking those filthy bass notes; Hugh ‘Doggy Dog’ Butler, rockin’ and wailing those drums and keys. The band have earned acclaim and recognition, including airplay on Cerys Matthews' BBC 6Music show and Joe Bonamassa’s ‘Keeping The Blues Alive’ Spotify playlist. In 2024, their debut record was also nominated for UK Blues Fed ‘album of the year’.
They regularly circuit through renowned venues across the UK, including The 100 Club, Half Moon Putney, The Leadmill, The Cluny, The Bullingdon, and The Greystones, alongside festival appearances at Whitby Blues, UK Blues Festival (Blackpool), Great British R&B Festival (Colne), Bluesbury Festival and CAMRA National Beer Festivals.
Threads have shared stages with esteemed acts such as; DeWolff, Fantastic Negrito, Zac Schulze Gang, Brave Rival, Chantel McGregor, James Oliver Band, Connor Selby, Hitman Blues Band, Amba Tremain, *Darnell Cole, Fargo Railroad Co., and William The Conqueror. Their journey continues as they cement their place as one of the most exciting live acts on the circuit.
The 20ft Squid Blues Band
The 20ft Squid Blues Band are a Sheffield band playing upbeat, irreverent blues. They combine elements of the 1950’s Chicago style with some of the more wayward aspects of 1960’s blues explosion. They mix in self penned songs with numbers made famous by the likes of Howling Wolf and Little Walter and throw in some by artists not so obviously from the blues tradition such as Tom Waits and Prince. This is fast paced, vibrant blues with eye-popping harmonica, thundering bass, intricate beats, choice guitar and a lot of feel.
Slim Wilson & the Swamp Brothers
Much loved blues and americana from Sheffield who recently featured on essential 2 x CD compilation "A Taste Of Honey” in tribute to Sheffield hero Martin Bedford
"Sheffield based harmonica maestro Slim Willson looks towards the darker side of Americana which also further develop his guitar skills. Performing originals alongside songs from the likes of John Hiatt, Chris Smither, James McMurtay and Tony Joe White, he has gathered some of the best local blues players and gigs around the city and beyond. The 'Swamps' continue to develop as a tight and tuneful combo and have recorded two CDs. They've played at the Colne RnB Festival Fringe for the last few years, Sheffield CAMRA Beer Festival and Cleethorpes Rail Ale Festival and are heading out again in 2026 to make new friends with their take on blues, Americana and beyond.”
Joe Armitage
Joe Armitage (Buffalo Ghost), is a singer-songwriter from Sheffield. His music explores themes including ghostly diners, drunken fathers , and lost loves. With lyrics that can be both heartwarming and heart-wrenching, he possesses a uniquely cherished voice and has become a mainstay of the Sheffield singer songwriter scene both as a solo performer or with his band Buffalo Ghost.
Ash Gray
Hailing from Austin in Texas, Ash Gray plays music anchored in folk, rock, blues and Texas country. With a penchant for a punky approach to his special brand of seventies influenced cosmic country, Ash’s songs are full of images of travel and songs that unravel into desert landscapes, roadside journeys and tales of the city. His track “Black Muddy Woman” features on the must listen 2025 compilation “A Taste of Honey” (Martin Bedford tribute).
