About this Event
Join The Generations Project at the Gifford House for an evening of stories about how Ptown's famous Unitarian Church supported the LGBT community during the AIDS crisis.
In the 80s and 90s Provincetown became the center of the AIDS crisis. The town became the community center and collective hospice for thousands of dying young men, one of the few safe havens in the country at a time when many of the rights and freedoms the LGBT community enjoys today were not at all assured. At this time, the Unitarian Universalist meeting house was a key player in creating a space for collective grief at an incalculable scale. Join us for an evening of stories from this time and this place in Provincetown's rich queer history.
