The Alaska Dog Mushers Association is proud to celebrate 79 years of hosting the Open North American Championship, the world’s premier sprint sled dog race.The ONAC is conducted under ADMA Rules.
Dozens of teams from around the world will convene in Fairbanks for the three-day race, which will start on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 1:00 pm and run through Sunday, March 16, with an awards ceremony and banquet to follow. The Open North American Championship is the longest continuously-run sled dog race in the world. There is no temperature cut-off for championship races. Purse TBD. There will be radio coverage with live checkpoint times as well as real-time live feeds around the trail. WEIO will join us for pop scrambles and snowshoes races as well.
