‣ Lost Wax Casting, also known as cire perdure, is an ancient process where metal alloys such as silver and gold are made into a design from a wax mould. Throughout the years, the lost wax casting process hasn’t just been used for jewellery, it was also used to make sculptures and ornaments. ‣ You’re only limited by your imagination in this workshop. Your piece of jewellery will be created out of a wax mould. You then pour in the silver, burn out the wax in the kiln and then shoot your molten metal into the mould using a centrifugal casting machine.
‣ You can make rings, earrings, pendant or a brooch. Intricate works can be achieved by this method. You can also cast natural elements such as gumnuts, leafs, sticks, leaf skeletons and then you can set your own stone into the piece. You can also bring your own gold to melt and create a new, more modern piece of jewellery.
‣ Up to 20 grams of silver is provided. Unleash your inner designer and get hands on experience in this fun and innovative workshop. Lost wax casting blends the old and the new in a truly remarkable fashion.
‣ For bookings and enquiries, please get in touch via DM on Facebook or Instagram or call 0421 549 413. Spaces are limited. $180 per person per day which includes your sterling silver. Tea and coffee provided.
