About this Event

Join Bea Xu on Lost Species Day for a ritual inspired by the theme of ecological entanglement and webs.

Having initiated an online ritual offering last year during the winter lockdown, Remembrance Day for Lost Species is glad to repeat this practice. We’re delighted to announce the return of transpersonal* ritual practitioner Bea Xu to hold the space for this year’s Lost Species Day.

Bea will facilitate a ritual inspired by the theme of ecological entanglement and webs – calling in the networks that exist across the elements of air, fire, water and earth. Participants will be supported to explore the Lost Species Day tenth anniversary theme of Interdependence through the human and more-than-human relationships they weave; visible and invisible, at the planetary and microbial level.

Lost Species Day co-founders will introduce Bea and offer a short remembrance reading at the start of the event.

No prior experience or materials are necessary.

*The transpersonal is defined as “experiences in which the sense of identity or self extends beyond the individual or personal to encompass wider aspects of humankind, life, psyche or cosmos”.

ABOUT BEA XU

Bea is a Chinese-British, transdisciplinary psychic worker from London currently located in Vilnius for the 9th Rupert Alternative Education Programme. Using collaborative play, speculative fiction and therapeutic intervention they design and means-test integrated, sustainable and post-capitalist realities with live audiences. Bea’s work is intuitive, visionary and narrative-driven – foregrounding blood magic, decolonized time and non-binary logic within a world-building and ritualistic framework.

Bea is the creatrix of ritual laboratory LUNARCHY 2.0; has collaborated with Omsk Social Club, FemmeDaemonium, Heal Her Project, the RenewRebels; and had work selected by UNFIX Festival 2021, Tech Arts Gallery for the 14th Baltic Triennial, Solo Show, Artlake Festival 2020, Virtual Futures, The Rollright Fayre 2018, ONCA Gallery, Gods & Radicals Press, and upcoming projects with Furtherfield Gallery and IAM Festival 2021. She has a background in climate communications and campaigns and co-founded a pan-European sustainable travel startup that is in its incubation phase presently. Bea is an English graduate from Oxford University and is a trainee integrative, transpersonal psychotherapist studying at CCPE.
