Lost River Racial Justice is excited to invite you to a mass meeting on September 30, 2024 at Holton Hall on the Winston Prouty Campus! We will be gathering at 5:30 for a potluck and socializing and the meeting will begin at 6pm. Please RSVP at this link:https://www.mobilize.us/surj/event/657628/ and join us at 5:30 at Holton Hall on September 30!
As a chapter of the national organization Showing Up for Racial Justice, we mobilize white people because we believe we have an important responsibility to organize our communities away from racism and into movements for change. In the face of the many crises of the world right now, it can feel like nothing we do is as big as what’s needed. But we don’t have to do everything– we have to do our part.
Join Lost River for a hybrid in-person Mass Meeting with remote access, where we’ll get clear on the role of white people in growing movements for racial and economic justice, and commit to action and deepen our organizing community together. Some actions we are organizing around with a racial justice focus include:
Palestinian Solidarity and apartheid-free communities and what that looks like in the southern Vermont region,
how we can show up to support local community safety
election-based organizing to build a grassroots progressive movement, focused on SURJ's campaign to get out the vote for progressive candidates in swing states.
We strongly recommend masking during this event. Let us know if you have other accessibility needs and we’ll accommodate you. We’re excited to meet you, share a meal, and build a better world together!
