About this Event
Lost Leaders with Kilo Bravo on Wednesday, January 22 at The Wayfarer in Costa Mesa, CA!
Lost Leaders (Byron Isaacs of The Lumineers and guitarist Peter Cole) are headed to the west coast for a run of shows in California as they release their new single "Castaways" on Jan 17th. In September 2024 they released their third full-length release “Hungry Ghosts”, an album of songs exploring desire and acceptance. Isaacs took advantage of a break in The Lumineers’ 2023 world tour and the duo spent 8 weeks in their upstate NY studio writing and recording with friends dropping by to contribute. Produced by the two long time collaborators and engineered and mixed by Cole, they have created their most adventurous record to date. With raw almost barebones production at times the record is spun from intertwining guitars and keyboard with the centerpiece of the duo's signature harmonies and trading of lead vocals.Lost Leaders was born in Levon Helm’s barn where their first record was written and recorded. Originally it was just a group of songs written by the two longtime friends. At the time Byron was playing in Levon’s band and so the two were invited to live and record at his barn for a few weeks. While recording they were invited to play the Midnight Ramble with Levon which essentially was their first gig and Lost Leaders was born.Upon release, the single from the debut album “I’m Gonna Win" was picked up in heavy rotation by AAA station WXPK in White Plains, NY and from there it spread across the country. With no label they chased the train as it was leaving the station. Three full-length albums and three E.P.s later they have had great write-ups in RELIX, No Depression, Huffington Post as well as top 100 songs at Americana radio. Never ones to rest on their laurels they are already working on the next batch of songs for release in late 2025.
