Presented by Do303, Lost City Live is excited to welcome Covenhoven with opener Sydney Clapp on July 23rd. Music begins at 7:30 p.m. and the patio will open one hour prior (at 6:30 p.m.) for attendees only.
National emerging folk/indie artist Covenhoven (aka Joel Van Horne) draws from a wide palette of musical colors. He is as equally at home in his lyric-forward folk songs as he is in the poly-rhythms and complex harmonies of jazz and classical. Simply put, Joel’s music blends the big and lush with the simple and intimate, all serving as a backdrop to his carefully crafted poetry. Beginning in 2013, he has released 3 LPs and 2 EPs, all to critical acclaim, and which now have been streamed over 2 million times online.
Denver songwriter Sydney Clapp creates within the sonic landscape of experimental folk, psychedelic and alt-pop sounds. The balance of deeply emotional and introspective lyrical themes mixed with experimental and rhythmic melodies creates a musical experience that's hard to place in a genre. Clapp just released her two first singles Telling and Golden Air and she's currently expanding her sound and learning how to produce her own music. For her first show of 2021 at Lost City, she will be sharing a stripped down and ambient and experimental set with unreleased songs that are currently in the works.
Lost City will offer food and drink for purchase to enjoy during the shows including cocktails, wine, beer, and snacks from chef Silvia Hernandez. Food and drinks will be served from a walk-up window to minimize contact throughout the venue.
Parking is free - please park in the overflow lot on the southwest side of the Taxi complex and avoid parking in any spots marked for residents.
