Everyone's favourite Improvisational Slam Jam Duo of Latin guitar with West African Djembe...and special guests!Following on from Los Jestos' brilliantly bonkers night here in September, our favourite improvisational slam-jam duo are back with the first of a regular showcase curated by Los Jestos and tonight, featuring special guests Elliott Morris and Lauren Stewart.
Los Jestos bridge the musical gap between the wildest areas of Spanish Rumba and the classics of 90s Hip Hop! Created before your eyes, The Jesters will weave together whatever song you request of them. Trust me, they’ve done it all so bring your most embarrassing or comical ideas and we’ll make something peachy with gusto.
There will be live, brand new, improvised tracks all night, infused with some favourite classics that’ll get you moving. Expect rock, pop, folk, Latin, reggaeton, pretty much anything you throw at them.
Los Jestos will be joined by:
Elliott Morris: With hundreds of gigs behind him, a coveted Danny Kyle Award from Celtic Connections and three awards from Italy’s premier world music festival, Elliott Morris has a formidable reputation as one of the hardest-working and most sought-after artists on the acoustic scene.
The singer-songwriter, featured in Acoustic magazine as ‘The Next Big Thing’, accompanies heartfelt lyrics with a unique guitar style - favouring open tunings, his extended techniques include percussive hits, string tapping, and occasionally slide.
Half English, half Scottish and raised in Wales and Lincolnshire, Elliott has continued this journey by honing his craft on the road.
Elliott has played Upstairs at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London, as well as major festivals such as Cambridge Folk Festival, The Great British Folk Festival, Hop Farm, Towersey Festival, The London Acoustic Guitar Show and the Ullapool Guitar Festival.
Elliott Morris twice toured the UK opening for Paul Carrack (Ace, Squeeze, Mike + The Mechanics, Eric Clapton), taking in over fifty major venues including a show at The London Palladium.
He has supported a seemingly endless list of other respected acts, among them Frank Turner, Andy McKee, Seth Lakeman, Lau, Albert Lee, Big Country, The Levellers, Ed Sheeran, Cara Dillon and Eddi Reader.
Lauren Stewart: After disappearing for over 7 years, Lauren has returned to music in 2025 with a bang - releasing her first ever single ‘Seventeen’ and making audiences heart’s melt with thought provoking and honest lyricism. 2026 sees her recording her first ever EP and bringing her focus back to the musical world, and we are all so lucky to have her back. The Los Jestos Slam Jam is really looking forward to having her come play for us.
