About this Event
Join the USGBC CA - Long Beach chapter on a Saturday morning for a docent-led group tour of the historic adobe Los Alamitos Museum and Gardens. The USGBC CA aims to promote architectural and construction efforts to minimize climate impacts and enhance the well-being of people, the environment , and communities. Located in the city of Los Alamitos, the Los Alamitos Museum is an early 19th-century adobe museum that is still standing today and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Frederick Law Olmsted Jr. and Florence Yoch & Lucile Council originally designed the historic gardens. The museum serves as a testament to vernacular architecture, passive house techniques, and natural building materials, and showcases the rich rancho history of the South Bay area. Group discussions to follow after the tour. Donations to the Los Alamitos Museum are welcome.
