lorena in da clublorena in da club flips the club’s usual script. instead of a predictable party backdrop, it becomes a medium for improvisation and experimentation. a collaboration between multimedia artist esra genc, known for her experimental dance project robogeisha, and poet-performer lorena izquierdo, the project thrives on the tension between structure and spontaneity.
born out of a friendship and a shared obsession with breaking norms, "lorena in da club" redefines the club as a space for raw musical communication, merging spoken word and anti-art performance with a deconstructed club aesthetic. the result is an unexpected and unrepeatable experience that reshapes what the club can be.

with a microphone, minidiscs, a casio sk1 and a sequencer, j. kaplan gathers voices, sound recording and wave traffic. by cutting fragments, we introduce ourselves into the material. soon it stretches. scores appear, they become carpets, paintings or polyphonic trees on which other elements bounce. the voice settles on a new object, changing energy and direction.
j. kaplan, is a solo project by juliette thomas, member of the band ladr ache, who shares sound collage and combination experience for several years.
