Loppetapalooza

Welcome to the Loppetapalooza! This event guide has the information you will need to participate in the event. You can download the event guide and maps here.

This is not a race. There will not be formal timing. If you want to go fast that’s great. If you want to go slow that’s great. There will be lots of people on the trail. Encourage everyone and be positive on the trail during the event. Parents are welcome to ski with their kids and ski chariots for the littles who are still not able to ski are more than welcome.

Registration is by donation. Anyone can participate and donate the amount they would like. Ideally you will have a Saskatoon Nordic Ski Club membership. You can get your membership here (https://zone4.ca/register.asp?id=36154&lan=1&cartlevel=1).

You can decide the distance on want to complete on the day of the event. No need to stress. Feeling fast, go for a longer distance. Here for the vibes, the 2.4Km route is for you.

• 1.2Km: The 1.2km event distance will have lots of fun and interesting activities as part of the loop. Feel free to ski that loop before after or during your event. A great way to warm up, cool down, or just have fun.
• 2.4Km: This loop is the 1.2Km route twice. Three times the fun!
• 5Km: Participants in the 5Km event ski the 1.2km route and the city loop. The trail will be well signed.
• 10Km: Participants in the 10Km event ski the hilly loop and city loop, then ski back to the start line at the timing hut.
• 20Km: Participants in the 20Km event ski the hilly loop and city loop, then ski back to the start line at the timing hut, then ski the hilly loop and city loop again. Four times the fun!

• 3:15pm: 20Km
• 3:30pm: 10Km
• 3:45pm: 5Km
• 4:00pm: 2.4Km
• 4:10pm: 1.2Km

After the event, stay for snacks, drinks, and a social. More details TBD.

We will be using the K+S Sports Complex parking lot (Ski Lesson Parking on the map) off Dudley Street at Avenue R south. This is not the same parking lot as the Holiday Park golf course ski access. This is the same parking lot that is used to access the skating oval. We will have direct access to the facility and washrooms from this parking lot.

When you arrive get your skis on and check in at the shed. We will have a registration table setup. The music will be coming from there. Just be mindfull there may be an event starting near your arrival time.

We will have access to washroom and a warm building in the K+S Sports Complex. You can put your skis near the grooming shed. We have ski racks there.
