Klub Primi presents exciting concerts every Tuesday! Tonight you can hear:

• 20:30 - Nordberg solo !Release Concert!
Jesper Nordberg (SE) - double bass
Jesper Nordberg is a young double bass player, based in Malmö, SE and Copenhagen, DK, where he has studied at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory. He has worked with a number of prominent European jazz musicians, such as Jesper Zeuthen (DK), Tomasz Dabrowski (PL) and Michala Østergaard Nielsen (DK). With a big tone and characteristic feel for rhythmical changes and displacements, he has established himself as a individual voice at the jazz scenes of Copenhagen and Malmö. He takes big interest in folk music from the Balkans, and has collaborated with musicians from Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia and Romania.
With his debut album as a soloist, Jesper manifests an aesthetic concept based on physicality, intuition and melodic poetry. The improvisations breath, sometimes powerful, sometimes fragile, and morphs in an organic way between different moods and conditions. The eclectic music gives the listener associations to South-East European folklore, Swedish vocal tradition, 60’s avant garde jazz and expressionist classical music.

• 21:30 - Hanna Schörken solo
Hanna Schörken (DE) - vocal
Hanna Schörken is a singer and improviser, currently based in Essen, Germany. Hanna’s music is influenced by literature and different languages as well as several extended stays in different parts of the world. Living in France, South America, Germany, and the Netherlands gave her the opportunity to discover different cultures and music. She studied Jazz Singing and Musicology and is involved in several projects in the field of improvised and experimental music.
Hanna’s voice shows a great flexibility in range and expressions. On her debut solo album, You Told Me How to Dance (Creative Sources Recordings, 2018), she dives deep into an emotional soundscape of her voice. Her second Solo Album "Luma" was released on Leo Records in 2020.

• 22:30 - The Monday Band
The curator this evening: Ivar Myrset Asheim
The Monday Band is a vibrant community which brings the young improvisers in Copenhagen together to play in large ensembles. Originally established in 2017 by Halym Kim and was co-organized together with Eloi Calame and Storm D'Angelo as a part of the legendary Mandagsklubben, the Monday Band became one of the staples of the improvisation scene in Copenhagen and has been dearly missed since it took a hiatus.
Finally, it’s back! This time as a monthly feature at Klub Primi, The Monday Band will gather a different and exciting constellation of improvisers and composers to experiment and create together each time. Sometimes it’s wild, sometimes calm, sometimes loud and sometimes anything you could or couldn’t imagine – and always fun.

Entrance fee: 100 DKK
Free entrance for all students at MGK's and conservatories in Denmark.
