The festival opens with Moss and Freud, an intimate and revealing portrait of supermodel Kate Moss and renowned British artist Lucian Freud. What begins as a sitting for a painted portrait becomes a psychological and creative encounter between two cultural icons, as art, power and vulnerability intersect inside Freud’s studio.
As the glamour of the outside world fades away, the film explores the complex artist–muse relationship, capturing a moment of transformation through the act of portrait‑making. Visually striking and quietly intense, Moss and Freud offers a rare glimpse into the private space where art is made, making it a fitting opening to this year’s Lopdell Film Festival.
