About this Event

Hearing news of traumatic events in the community can be triggering for anyone, and particularly for survivors of violent crimes. Join the Vegas Strong Resiliency Center online or in-person at United Way of Southern Nevada for a Mental Health Awareness Month townhall about ways to cope with news about ongoing tragedies.

Survivors of the October 1, 2017, mass shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival will join Tennille Pereira of the Vegas Strong Resiliency Center, Jacqueline Harris of Creative Solutions Counseling Center, and Margarita Romano of Fuente de Vida Mental Health Services for a panel discussion about how recent incidents of violence may be affecting you, resources available, and ideas for coping and getting through the tough times.

Remember that mental health challenges are normal and common among those who have experienced traumatic events. If you or someone you know is experiencing a behavioral health crisis, don’t hesitate to call or text 988 or chat through 988lifeline.org for help.

You can speak with a Vegas Strong Resiliency Center advocate for support through [email protected] or 702-455-2433 during our regular business hours. Other events and resources are available at VegasStrongRC.org.
