About this Event
Canada has joined over 120 countries in committing to net-zero emissions by 2050, including all other G7 nations (United Kingdom, United States, Germany, Italy, France, and Japan). But is it possible and if so how can it be done? What are the consequences of not achieving the net zero goals?
We've partnered with UCalgary's Sustainable Energy Development Student Society to host a debate-style event discussing the feasibility of reaching net zero by 2050. Join us as industry professionals and University academics discuss their perspectives and provide insights into this ambitious goal.
Refreshments will be provided.
This event is hosted by the University of Calgary Sustainable Energy Development (SEDV) Student Society, in partnership with Innovate Calgary and the School of Public Policy, and is supported in part thanks to the Canada First Research Excellence Fund (CFREF). It is the first of three in the Looking Forward event series where we will be bringing industry and academics together to expand our toolkit of energy transition knowledge.
