Looking For The Magic Records' monthly(ish) programme of Sunday late-afternoon sessions of live music continues with a special show from Miniseries, celebrating the release of their debut album Pilot.Miniseries is a space-rock band formed in 2022 around the musical nexus that is The Betsey Trotwood pub in Farringdon, London. The band was conceived by Doug Morch (formerly of ‘00s indie heroes Longview), Angela Gannon (The Magic Numbers) and Dermot Watson (of Brighton psychonauts The Dials) joined by Aidan Banks (Longview) and drummer Danny Abbasi.
The band has built a following around a string of singles released on their own label, Rips Music, since 2023 and championed on the radio by Guy Garvey (BBC 6 Music), John Kennedy (XFM) and Dermot O’Leary (BBC Radio 2).
November 2025 sees the release of their first full-length album Pilot. The album was recorded with co-producer Sean Read (Dexys, Edwyn Collins, Manics, Beth Orton) at Edwyn Collins’s Clashnarrow Studio in the Scottish Highlands and also includes the single May You Always produced by Elbow’s Craig Potter.
Copies of the album will be available to buy on the day.
The show will feature a support (TBC) and music from guest DJs from LFTM and The Sound Lounge.
